FORWARD WITH A UNIQUE SOLUTION FOR DEFORMATION SPECIALISTS.

Castrol’s Iloform CFX series of forming oils is specifically engineered for metal forming processes. The series provides an environmentally responsible and alternative to chlorinated paraffins containing products with specific benefits for several deformation application areas.

HIGH PERFORMANCE IN METAL FORMING, WITHOUT CHLORINE.

The manufacturing industry faces a multitude of challenges, a number of which are technological in nature. For example, if companies want to continue to be successful they cannot ignore digital transformation, otherwise they will be overtaken by more agile competitors. Topics such as process automation and predictive maintenance to minimise down time are important. They not only allow for a more flexible and more predictable process, but they also reduce costs.

At the same time, sustainability and environmental protection are becoming increasingly important topics. Environmental impact is often a key decision-making criteria when organizations commit to new products. This includes CO₂ neutrality and low energy consumption, as well as water savings and waste avoidance.

These issues are complemented by general health and safety concerns, as well as continuously tightened regulations.

Optimol Parts Quality

Excellent adhesion and wetting properties provides a homogenous highly lubricating film for an excellent surface finish and accuracy and significantly reduces corrosion risk vs. chlorinated products

Optimol TCO

High protection against wear and to enable long tool and die life, which helps to cut downtime and tool costs. High viscosity index enables lower consumption and allows greater process stability from the start.

Optimol Environmental Green

Helps to meet aspects of local legislative and waste treatment requirements that specify chlorinated additive exclusion.

Optimol Safety Green

No chlorinated paraffins supports health, safety and environmental compliance as been tested in labs and proven to work well in several metal deformation processes.

GREENER, MEANER, LEANER.

Chlorinated paraffins have traditionally been used to coat the edges of parts used in deformation processes, reacting with metal surfaces to create an additional protective layer. The technology is proven to work across a range of applications, but Castrol thought there was a way to achieve even greater benefits, hugging the metal even more closely to deliver greater efficiency while reducing erosion.

Iloform CFX was originally developed for pilgering stainless steel tubes, one of the most demanding processes in the whole deformation sector. The additive technology was so powerful that even the filler in the inner tube/mandrel lubrication was no longer needed.

In each case, CFX has been proven to deliver highly significant gains. Our clients are already seeing 20% longer tool life, 15% faster press speeds, and up to 50% improvement in the speed of their fine blanking operations. Given the environmental benefits common to the entire range, our CFX family of forming oils provides a long-term solution for the deformation sector. With no need for chlorine, we can move toward a greener future together.

PRODUCT APPLICATION GUIDE

Each of the six Castrol Iloform CFX versions is tailored to specific applications and has a corresponding viscosity. Thanks to this extensive portfolio, the Castrol Iloform CFX series covers a wide range of applications. The oils feature an excellent lubricating performance as well as an extremely good pressure absorption capacity. One of the numerous benefits is that they consequently enable a high surface quality – a core criterium for the selection of forming oils in industrial manufacturing.
